Work Part 1

    During high school I worked a couple jobs during the summer as a waitress and detasseling. Waitressing was OK, but detasseling, I'm not going to lie... sucked!! I also worked at Del Monte, that job was a dirty job but it was an OK job.

    After High School graduation I moved to Stillman Valley, IL to work for my Aunt & Uncle in their restaurant as a you guessed it, waitress. The farmers would come in every morning for their usual breakfast and gossip. Even if they weren't farmers, the guys would come in just to drink coffee and shoot the shit with them.
    I was told by a customer, George that I made the best shakes. That made me feel good knowing he enjoyed them.

    The Restaurant was eventually sold, I got pregnant (oops) and moved back home to Compton, IL.

Our Wedding

     After dating for awhile, Joe and I got married. October 24, 1992  it was a chilly, Fall day but it was a perfect day to marry the love of my life in Mendota, IL. We had friends and family there to help us celebrate our day! The reception was fun, but I think the band only knew one song because they sang Achy Breaky Heart a lot that night. I like a few country songs and that isn't one of them.      I think everyone had fun. There was one guest being stupid and I thought we were going to have to call in reinforcements (police) but he ended up leaving on his own, thank goodness.      My mother and father in law watched Steven while we were on a cruise to the Bahamas. Child Birth #2

       My second pregnancy was a hard pregnancy. My original due date was Oct. 25th 1993, but he was being stubborn and wasn't born for another 8 days. It was then that I was induced, come hell or high water I was going to deliver him that day.    While I was pushing, the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and he was turning blue. They took him right a way to get his color back. It was a scary situation but it ended well. I was told he was a girl but when I told the nurse her name, another nurse said, "that's a funny name for a girl". November 2, 1993 Justin was born. Can I say, "being induced sucks"! Any mom's out there who have been induced may or may not agree with me on that, everyone handles things differently.     Justin was about a year or year and a half old when he got his first pair of glasses. We had to get a strap for him to keep his glasses on, he didn't like that too much. Isn't he cute with glasses?

Vacation Part 1

      Since we worked a lot, we didn't go on long vacations, we would go to Missouri to visit his parents for a few days a couple times a year. Steven was a toddler, and it was too hard to travel with him sometimes. Eventually, we went to other places like Florida, Las Vegas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana and Georgia.
